PAYBACK BOOK FUNDRAISER
The Payback book fundraiser is currently underway! Each student should have received an envelope with a sample Payback book last week to bring home. Feel free to use the sample book to show people what coupons are offered inside.
There are tons of great discount coupons for local businesses (such as grocery stores, restaurants and activity centers) in the Vancouver/Camas area! The sample book can be purchased for $20 or returned to school in your child's envelope. Any additional books that your child sells will be issued at the end of the fundraiser. Students that sell a certain number of books are eligible for really cool prizes!
Payback books sell for $20 and half of that will go back to support the Dorothy Fox PTA. Checks should be made out to Dorothy Fox PTA.
Please note that students are encouraged only to sell to people they know such as relatives and friends and NOT to strangers.
ORDERS DUE 9/20/19: Please return all order forms with payment by due date. If you are not purchasing the sample book or did not sell the sample book, please return it by the 20th. THANK YOU!

FOX GARDEN UPDATE
Thank you to all the families who helped care for the garden over the summer. Students returned to a garden full of flourishing fruits, vegetables, herbs and mammoth sunflowers.
Thank you to Lacamas Lake Lowe's. During the last week of August, members of Lowe's Heroes Team so generously upgraded and expanded our school garden. The end result is a really beautiful and welcoming space for students to experience science in action. Please come by and check it out and remember to thank an associate next time you are shopping at our local Lowe's store.
Students have enjoyed discovering their garden this month, while doing scavenger hunts and saving flower seeds that they can plant next Spring. In the coming weeks, they will have the opportunity to harvest produce and plant seeds.
Enjoy working with kids and gardening? Join our volunteer team and assist students in discovering plants and insects; plant, grow and harvest a variety of fruits, vegetables, herbs and edible flowers.
If you would like to receive weekly garden news and/or would like more information on volunteer opportunities, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.

SAFE AND SWIFT
DRIVE LINE ETIQUETTE VIDEO
FROM DR. SORK
If you have not had a chance to watch the video created by Dr. Sork, please do! It is a good reminder to all parents and students on how to be Safe and Swift before and after school. Share it with your kids so they are aware too. Thank you for your help in keeping Fox drive lines moving and students safe!
Visit our Safe and Swift website page, and click on the video to watch and read more!
THE TOP REMINDERS:
PULL FORWARD. Do not stop the car in front of the doors and block cars behind you. Pull all the way past the doors to the line at the front. This means drive past the front office doors and past the side doors (depending on which parking lot you are in) and stop at the painted line before students exit the vehicle to make room for others behind you.
BE SWIFT. Say goodbye quickly.
ONLY CURBSIDE. Only let kids out on the curbside of the vehicle (passenger side).
STAY IN VEHICLE. If you need to get out, please park in the parking lot.

This is a wonderful way to commemorate a very special occasion and to help our library maintain a high-quality collection. Your generosity will benefit all Fox students. We thank you for your participation and support!
