FUNDRAISING FOR FOX ART PROGRAMS
RUN FOR THE ARTS
You are invited to help bring the Arts to Dorothy Fox by supporting students in a special running FUNdraiser! Art Education is important, and this one-day event is the only way we can fund it.
Each year donations received enable Fox to bring professional teaching artists to work directly with our kids. In recent years, the PTA has been able to bring in two art residency programs per year: from photography and sculpture, to drawing and dance. We can only do it if we all participate! Let’s get the kids excited for the event, and please consider getting donations!
Fundraising forms were sent home with students in Friday Folders or you can donate online.
Lost your form? Visit the PTA Run for the Arts web page to download and for more information.

Dig in and join our volunteer school garden team! We aim to open the garden to students once a week during lunch recess time. Over the next few weeks students will have the opportunity to plant seeds, plant fruit and veggie starts, observe cocoons and insects, make plant markers, pull weeds, etc.
If you are interested in volunteering, please contact the PTA Garden Chair, Lianne Lauda at firstname.lastname@example.org to be added to the garden email distribution list.
Yearbook distribution will be end of day on Monday, June 17th. There will be a very limited number of extra books that will be available in the PTA office before or after school on Tuesday and Wednesday. ARTIST IN RESIDENCE
LIVING AERIAL ART
SCHOOL WIDE ART PROJECT!! Our FINAL ARTIST IN RESIDENCY project!
June 11, 12, 13 - PHOTO TAKEN JUNE 12
This year, students will participate in a school-wide aerial photograph of a FOX. Every child in the school will be in the photograph but it will be taken from such a distance that it will take the shape of a fox!
This is an exciting project that teaches kids about geoglyphs (art that can't be seen at ground level but can be seen from a distance in the sky). All Dorothy Fox students will participate and a piece of art will be reveled! Every student will receive their own photograph of the project to take home.
To make this residency work, we are looking for donations of the following items. Please contact Amanda Carter-Jura (email@example.com) if you have access to any of these items.
20 bags of black dyed mulch
50 survey flags
Please stay tuned! More information will come! Students will be asked to wear a colored t-shirt on the day of the photograph. As we get closer to the event, we will be in touch about t-shirt colors.

PTA President’s End-of-Year Message
What an incredible 2018-19 school year!
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the many people who have made this year such a huge success. First, thanks to our current PTA board: Allison Abernethy, Trisha Golding, Robyn Lowy, Beth Kidd, Nissa Buchanan and Amanda Steele for their dedication in helping out above and beyond expectations.
I’d also like to welcome in our new board: Allison Abernethy, Trisha Golding, Robyn Lowy, Beth Kidd, Jackie Boaz, Emily Moore and Krysti Araque. They will do an amazing job next year!
I’d like to also thank our PTA chairs and volunteers who helped out at so many events throughout the year. We can’t do what we do without our volunteers! Please be sure to stop by the school on Run for the Arts Day and enjoy some treats as a thank you in the Rainy Day Room!
We are all so lucky to be at Dorothy Fox which was one of 137 elementary schools recognized by our state for achievement in ELA, Math and School Quality and Student Success measures in 2017-18! We are the only school in Camas to receive this state award this year! Fox Rocks!
Last, our new PTA board will see you at Back to School Night so stop by the table and see how you can help support our school next year!
Tammy Speer, PTA President
